Review & Apply Story Sync Results

A Story Sync scan can return character profiles, worldbuilding pages and other setting information, scene analyses, and detailed insights into your plot, its arcs, and any lingering Reader Questions.

Where to review results

After your scan finishes, the results stay in the Story Sync dashboard until you apply them to your story file.

Review the results in Analysis Status, the right-side sidebar of the Story Sync dashboard.

You can navigate through results in the Analysis Status area. After opening an individual result, you can also use the left-side navigation sidebar.

How to review and apply results to your story file

Use the results as an extensive starting point. You can later refine your story bible manually, if needed.

1. Click on completed pages to review. Completed pages have a bright green circle checkmark next to them. Take note of any:
   • names, roles, and relationships that might need correction
   • world details that might need clarification
   • plot information that might need refinement
2. Flag any fields you want to be sure to return to later
   • Right-click (or similar action) to access the field edit menu
   • Click the small flag icon that appears.
   • This field will now show a flag marker in the preview, and will show that same flag marker in this field when this page is later applied to your story bible. A clickable list of all of this story’s flags is accessible in the story’s main menu.
3. Retry any (rare) incomplete pages. Failed items show a red ❌ icon to the left of the page title.
   • Click the checkbox next to the title to select incomplete pages.
   • Then click the Retry option.
   • This does not use another Story Sync credit.
4. Select all pages that you want to apply to your story file. There is a Select All option if needed.
   • Your tier plan might limit how many character profiles and Worlds you can apply to this story file.
   • Story Sync can surface more results than your plan allows you to keep active, so you may need to prioritize which results to apply first.
   • Micro characters do not count toward your character limit.
5. Unselect any pages you do not want to apply.
6. Click the dark green Apply button when you are satisfied with your selection. These results will now appear in this story’s Characters, Worldbuilding, and Plotting areas.
7. You can revisit this story’s Story Sync area at any time.

When to add information yourself

The Story Sync results are read-only files until they are applied over to the other parts of your story file. If Story Sync misses something important, you can always add it manually in the relevant part of your story bible file.

For instance, if a field in a character profile is inaccurate, flag it, then apply the profile from Story Sync over to the Character area, and then go into the profile and correct the field.
