What is Story Sync?

Story Sync is Novelio’s opt-in manuscript analysis tool. You upload your manuscript file and configure your settings, and then Story Sync reads the story and builds an extensive story bible for you to review.

Story Sync does not plot a story for you. It helps you review your manuscript draft more clearly through the lens of a detailed story bible.

What Story Sync creates

Story Sync returns detailed pages for:

• Characters, with profiles for any primary, secondary, and minor characters, linked lists and profiles for character groups, and a table list of mentioned micro characters.
• Worlds, with card profiles for notable locations, items, creatures, species/types, etc. and detailed data pages for deeper world building categories.
• Plotting, with individual scene analyses, an outline of your Plot Foundations and dual arcs, and any lingering “Reader Questions” it discovered.

You review those results before deciding what to keep.

What to expect from the scan

Story Sync is analytical, not creative AI generation.

• It reads a manuscript file for details, arcs, inconsistencies, and more.
• It uses that manuscript to notate profiles and pages for your review. These results become an extensive story bible and developmental edit resource.
• It can articulate patterns, structure, arcs, possible plot holes, and lingering anticipations.
• It may miss some details or interpret parts of the manuscript imperfectly, so we encourage you to review those results and refine if needed.
• Even with some imperfections, the results are easily polished.
• Seeing your character arcs, story arc, and possible plot holes articulated in an analytical dataset can bring you unexpected insight.

When to use Story Sync

Story Sync works best when you want to:

• start a new story bible from an existing manuscript
• compare your story intentions with what a reader actually reads on the page
• save time on first-pass developmental edits before manual review
• build story reference resources for your backlist, especially for earlier books in a series you are still working on

Novelio recommends using Story Sync in a new, blank story file so the scan results have a clean place to be reviewed and applied.
