And if you're writing historical fiction or even biographies, this area acts as a checklist for your research, making sure you know well the time period, place, and culture that your story takes place in, and can then easily reference that information as you write. The 26 sections of each World Card include:

  Biomes

  Choose from among descriptive selections for all various biomes, or describe your own.

  Geography

  The details inside of the biome, including natural formations, bodies of water, and bordering geography. Also includes prompts for how the inhabitants have affected the geography and climate, how difficult it is to travel, and other such questions.

  Weather

  Prompts on seasons, storms, natural forces, and disasters.

• 04

  Maps

  Upload images, pdfs, or other maps and describe any relevant details not included in the image. A future feature will include the ability to draw maps within Novelio and then polish those hand-drawn maps with the help of AI.

  Time & Physics

  Describe the time period of your story and how this culture calendars and tells time. Prompts for stories that span different timelines and/or over different generations. This section is also vital for spec-fic stories with multiverses, time travel, or alternative history.

  Resources & Economy

  Extensive list of resource categories to be filled out, along with thoughtful questions about how those resources influence society. The economy is also covered in depth, including topics on currencies, wealth distribution, trade, and black markets.

  History

  Extensive prompts about the historical context, both real and “re-written” and how that history has influenced the progress of the current society. This section also includes areas to write out historical events and societal lore.

  Government & Politics

  A large section separated further into areas on foreign relations, law & justice, military & war, lines of succession, and political maps.

  Family Structure

  A view of what typical family structure looks like, along with gender roles, age roles, and how the government & religious entities encourage or discourage marriage and childbirth. Includes prompts for sexuality in society and how important lineage is. Future features include the ability to build family trees or genealogy charts.

  Diversity

  Prompts for where diversity comes from, which differences are valued or treated with contempt, and other thought provoking prompts. This section also discusses social classes and how society views changes in class. Another subsection includes detailed questions about various species, races, or ethnicities and how they are viewed by the other groups. Lastly, users can create image profiles for various races, species, or types.

  Detailed information on training, labor, and industry. Includes a list of labor categories to be filled in with the specific careers/vocations/roles available to members of society. Another subsection discusses the distribution of labor between classes. Lastly, users can create image profiles for uniforms or identifying labor markings.

  Social Expectations

  Rules of society between genders, classes, host/guests, and authorities/inferiors. Discussion what courting looks like between couples, what gestures are insulting or honorable, and how much time is offered for social situations. Another subsection includes thoughtful prompts on the ethics and morals of society.

  Religions

  Extensive prompts for the role religion plays in culture & government, and for the protagonist. Another subsection is dedicated to rituals and holidays. Also includes space to write out their “creation story,” and to sketch religious symbols.

  Language & Communication

  Divided into prompts for communication and prompts for languages. Also includes an area to write out secret codes, unique alphabets, or entirely new languages.

  Discusses the history of technology, sources of energy, and the role tech plays in all other subsets of society, and how tech can upset the balance of power. Users can also create image profiles for various weapons, transportation, tools, and other forms of technology.

  Prompts for the sources, access, and choice in education & training. Also discusses the value placed on education and educators.

  Includes prompts for the health system, healers, training, access, and affordability of healthcare. Also includes space to discuss details of lifestyles, medicines, natural treatments, anesthetics and pain killers.

  Prompts for available foods & drinks, access between abundance and rarities, and the culture behind how and when people eat. Includes specifics for how people get ingredients, how things are prepared and stored, and rates of obesity/malnutrition.   Prompts for the standards of beauty and hygiene, and any changes expected between life stages, classes, or roles. Discussions on textiles/dyes, rebellious appearances, views of modesty, and trends. Prompts for expected clothing for official ceremonies, military, weddings, and other specific occasions. Users can create image profiles for various clothing profiles.

  Divided into prompts for utilities & public works, and structures and architecture. Users can create image profiles for various buildings, styles, or public projects.

  This extensive section is divided into parts and discusses magic types/abilities, sources, limitations, dynamics, regulations, training, and the effect of magic on labor, government, religion, culture, and other aspects of society.

  Create detailed profiles for relevant animals and creatures. This could mean specific individuals such as the protagonist’s pet, or general species of animals relevant to the story, both real and imagined.

  Create detailed profiles of items significant to the main characters and/or plot. These include gear, tools, weapons, articles of clothing, jewelry, symbols, and other types of items.

  Create detailed profiles of relevant locations, buildings, and other such places.

  Create detailed profiles of story-significant foods, drinks, potions, elixirs, drugs, herbs, poisons, and consumable energy forces.

  A place for symbols or markers pertaining to your story, such as religious symbolism; markings of government, groups, or rebellions; significant tattoos, folklore symbols/hieroglyphs; indicators of rank; and so forth.
